Summary | 0020157: [Squig Herder] Sneaky Bouncin' damage bonus can be applied to targets further than 45ft, and not applied to targets within...
Description | Reporter: Zomega-WAR <!-- Issues should be unique. Check if someone else reported the issue first, and please don't report duplicates. Only ONE issue in a report. Don't forget screens or a video. --> **Expected behavior and actual behavior:** Not sure if this is technically a bug or a VERY counter-intuitive tactic. Part of this comes from the very inconsistent use of the word "target" in Age of Reckoning's ability effects. In the Path of Bouncin (Squig Armor) path for the Squig Herder is this tactic: ![image](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/60266177/171371694-c7e42f74-cef6-4850-a08b-e4c046460920.png) Seeing as this path is all about melee attacks, both single target and point blank AOE, you would expect this to increase the damage of everyone being hit as none of your abilities can hit further than the range of this tactic. HOWEVER What actually happens is that the game checks to see if the currently selected hostile/enemy target is within 45ft. If so, then anything you damage takes +15% extra damage. This causes the following issues: 1) If you are hitting enemies with point-blank AOEs - for example with "Bounce" which has a 20ft radius - but do not have a target selected, then you will not get the damage bonus. 2) If you are hitting enemies with point-blank AOEs - for example with "Bounce" which has a 20ft radius - but you have a random enemy targeted who is more than 45ft away from you then you will not get the damage bonus. 3) If you start attacking an enemy that is more than 45ft away with a ranged attack - such as Plink which has a 100ft range and a 2s cast time - and during the cast you change target to an enemy that is within 45ft of you, then the original target is still hit (correct) but the attack gets the 15% damage bonus as you now have someone within 45ft targeted. It would make far more sense is the 15% damage bonus is applied if you deal damage to someone within 45ft of you, rather than it being based purely on your distance to the target and ignoring the distance to what is taking damage. A previous report was made about about Sneaky Bouncing not working. Going by the screenshots they didn't have anything targeted and were using AOEs which is why they thought it was broken: https://github.com/WarEmu/WarBugs/issues/18628, **Steps to reproduce the problem:** See tests 1 and 2 in the screenshots below. **Testing Screenshots/Videos/Evidences (always needed):** <!-- Drag and drop an image file here to include it directly in the bug report, no need to upload it to another site --> Test 1, tactic equipped. First pair of damage numbers is with no target selected hitting two things next to me with PBAOE. Second pair of damage numbers is targeting one of the things next to me (tactic gives a damage boost). Third pair of numbers (sorry for the random crit) is targeting something far away and losing the damage bonus, even though I am still hitting the same 2 things next to me. ![image](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/60266177/171374679-70c632c8-0e11-4081-bd78-5169d272e593.png) Test 2 using single target ranged abilities and changing target mid-cast. a) Long range, no target swaps. This is the baseline for unbuffed damage: ![image](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/60266177/171375072-0bcbac27-3879-4a4b-85c8-ede53115505c.png) b) Began attacking someone at long range, switched to a target next to me mid-cast. The original long range target was hit but the damage was buffed as I now had something closer targeted: ![image](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/60266177/171375310-6a181e1d-df74-4ee5-8d67-ddbdb5e1ff0c.png) c) Targeting something at close range and not changing the target. Damage buff applied correctly: ![image](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/60266177/171375443-80a76f8c-f096-4295-83fb-29f0f18dec90.png) d) Targeting something at close range and then changing my target to nothing mid-cast. Original close range target is still hit but the damage buff is lost. ![image](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/60266177/171375565-cbac821f-ed3b-427f-965f-c83ddae3faac.png) <!-- Note that game critical and game breaking bugs may award a manticore/griffon (realm specific) at the leads discretion however, asking for one instantly disqualifies you from this reward. -->
