Summary | 0022005: RoR Aegis gives a 60 sec timed buff that can disappear early
Description | When casting Aegis, it plants a banner that lasts 60 seconds. When players get in range of the banner, they get a buff that starts counting down from 60 seconds, regardless of how much time the banner itself may have left. This feels weird because as soon as the banner disappears or the player moves out of range of the Aegis, the buff also disappears, even though timed buffs generally only expire when they reach 0 seconds.
Additional Information | There are a few possible fixes that I think could work here: To behave more like pre-patch, once a player is in range of an Aegis they should receive the buff with the duration matching the remaining time on the planted Aegis. This buff should persist regardless of whether the player is near the Aegis banner or not, as timed buffs do not normally depend on proximity. This buff should be able to be increased (overridden) by being near to another Aegis that has a longer duration than the current buff, but similarly being near another Aegis that's about to expire should not be able to reduce it. Otherwise, if it is intended that players must remain next to the planted Aegis to benefit from it, the buff should not have a timer associated with it and behave like a typical area buff (Chosen / KOTBS aura for example). The downside is this makes it difficult to know how much time you will benefit from the Aegis for. Or a hybrid approach - when players are near an Aegis, they get the timed buff but starting at the remaining time of the planted Aegis instead of 60 seconds, though this still violates the general rule of timed buffs not being based on proximity and can be confusing when there are multiple Aegises in the same area causing the number to jump around as they expire.
