Description | Reporter: adamjacksonzone Expected behavior and actual behavior: Since patch (my guess to do with the reworking of coordinates and distance) pet is teleporting all over the place when its told to attack. Expected - If pet beside player, when initiating an attack, expect pet to run towards target Actual - as per the example video, the pet is teleported some distance away and then begins to move to target, sometimes if you pounce at the same time this happens, it kills the pet and gives you message, pet is too far away. This is happening around 1 in 5 attacks. Steps to reproduce the problem: I cant pinpoint the exact steps but if you attack various mobs, using pet attack and then pounce you should be able to get this to happen. Commenter: Kaelang Looks more like an X and Y axis issue of the NPC, as opposed to a direct response in todays change. As you can see throughout the video, the pathing is fine for the pet, it's only that particular NPC where it glitches slightly - which has been happening for years for opposing players. I'll close this for now as I think it's essentially a reflection of the legacy problem whereby pets like to flash around - but if it becomes more widespread and frequent I'll go ahead and reopen it. |

Commenter: adamjacksonzone As i mentioned, it doesnt happen every time, i just showed the one I managed to capture. I have been coming to this area for grinding scales for years, the pathing has not behaved like this before. Additionally, I had it frequently happen against a mob when only 40 ft away on the same y axis. I'm also well aware of historical pet pathing issues, having played WL since live beta - its regressed again. Theres also people mentioning this issue in advice chat - which is why i started testing it. This is the third bug ive reported, with video evidence, the other two were accepted, but its always contested with you guys, even with evidence, without any investigation. You want people to report issues, but then you respond to them like this? |

Commenter: Kaelang Well - let's be honest here - you forgot to mention that it's being frequently reported across advice chat. You also forgot to mention you've farmed this spot for years and never had an issue. And with the large amount of reports - I typically don't memorise names, so whether or not you have a track record of reporting accurate bugs, or exaggerating rare events is unknown. In this instance, I'll re-open, as you've given sufficient information to back up that this isn't just a one time thing you've noticed and came over to the BT to report it - which happens a LOT more than you might expect. And the reports aren't contested, it's not us going against what you're saying - it's clearing out the reports that don't provide enough information to support the cause of testing / development, as opposed to those who have fundamental game changing issues backed up with relevant information. |

Commenter: Torete-war This thing has been happening for 3 years to squig herder pets, this isn't a rare problem, the patch today just changed it to a totally new level of chaos. Squig herder pet path has been bugged since the Azarael nerfed the spiked pet range, arguing it was a skirmish pet and nerfed the spiked pet range from 100 feets to 65 feets range... since those 3 years ago the pet is chaotic. When staff changed the pet damage to deal less damage when is far from owner, it just made the problem even worse, because you never know where the pet really is. Even if you have it next to you in your screen, isn't really there for server, and when you send your pet to attack, it's teleport out far from you to an old attack spot, and with those changes which lower damage when is far from you, it simply deals damage like a low NPC. Today i was next to pet in hightpass, each time i used the button for hold pet position in a spot, it's teleported itself 100 feets away from me (i did it non stop for 4 minutes, and each time i forced itself to come back and hit other time the hold position button, he teleported other time to the same old spot, this happened 15 times in 4 minutes, with screenshoots) This bug makes the disarm ability for squig herder unreliable too, because you can use the ability and expect your pet to disarm the target in next attack, but the pet just teleports to an old attack spot, never disarming your target. You can test it very easy, log in RVR or scenarios, get your squig herder moral up untill you get access to the moral 3 which makes the pet extrasize big and multiply your Squig herder pet damage for 3 times, once you use the moral, send the pet to attack a player, you will notice the Squig herder pet isn't adding any damage (95% of the times), because even if you are next to the pet, the reality is the pet is far from the owner for the server, and that reduce the damage because the pet was nerfed to deal less damage when is far from you, most of the times the pet isn't even attacking because you think the pet has line of sigh and the reality is pet is in a spot withouth line of sigh not using abilities and making you lose the moral 3 for nothing. This has been happening for years since Azarael nerfed the spiked pet range from 100 feet to 65 feet and changed the line of sigh in squig herder pets....today patch just pushed the bug further. Today in scenario, i was dieing from a player DoT, the pet was next to me 5 feet away in passive mode and i wasn't allowed to use "taste like chicken" ability and self heal me. Even if in my screen it is 5 feet away, the server believes the pet is in an old attack spot way far from you....tried to use the ability Taste like chicken 20 times and never allowed me to use it, because it was out of range, but in my screen is next to me.... after givin up, i sent pet to attack, and surprise he teleported to the old attack spot, 150 feet away from me because server thinks it is in an old spot. Commenter: Lithenir Was just running around in TM and my WL pet constantly "dies" and instantly "summons" next to me, this happens on cd. When engaging an enemy the pet disappears starting the summoning cd. This has never happend before the last patch. After testing a bit more it seems to only happen when you have a (at least) slight height difference with your pet on plain field it only rarely happens. And the pathing seems to be much more odd than before. |

Commenter: adamjacksonzone @Kaelang this looks to have been fixed with the pet pathing hotfix - i didnt encounter any issues in the wyvern caves. |
