| Summary | 0020264: Loot rolls not downgrading "need" to "greed" on unusable items | ||||
| Description | Reporter: Zomega-WAR <!-- Issues should be unique. Check if someone else reported the issue first, and please don't report duplicates. Only ONE issue in a report. Don't forget screens or a video. --> **Expected behavior and actual behavior:** Sorry, no screenshot of the roll log for this. During a BB/BE run today a purple seed dropped. Two people in the group were cultivators and pressed the "Need" button. I am not a cultivator, and pressed the "Need" button reflexively as I am used to the game automatically downgrading it to "Greed" for purple seeds, as these are bind-on-pickup so are completely useless for non-cultivators. To my surprise my "Need" was not downgraded into a "Greed", and I won the roll even though the item is unusable for my crafting professions. We checked the "combat log" at the time to see what the rolls are, and we confirmed that the server let all 3 of us roll "Need" even though mine should've been converted by the server into "Greed". I was also told during the dungeon run that people are able to pick "Need" on armour pieces that they cannot use and the game is not downgrading those rolls to "Greed" either. I do not have any evidence of this. **Testing Screenshots/Videos/Evidences (always needed):** <!-- Drag and drop an image file here to include it directly in the bug report, no need to upload it to another site --> I am now the proud owner of a purple seed I cannot use, stealing it from 2 cultivators. <!-- Note that game critical and game breaking bugs may award a manticore/griffon (realm specific) at the leads discretion however, asking for one instantly disqualifies you from this reward. --> | ||||

Commenter: CrimsonFenris Unuseable means "never will be useable". You still can learn this crafting skill later on. I know it sucks, but that's why I recommend to use Tidyroll, and disable autoroll in dungeons, while selecting "pass" everytime you dont want an item at all. We had cases of people still dropping unuseable gear pieces in dungeons (Sentinel/bloodlord gear for example), and "stealing" them from other players who selected "need", so we found out "greed" can be buggy. |

Commenter: Rubyeclipse-war All seeds (Blue and Purple) allow for both Need or Greed rolls, and it's been this way for some time. (Maybe years, at least?) The system doesn't check or limit rolls by crafting profession. Seeds currently function much like the Exquisite gemstones in Gunbad - anyone can roll need on them, even if they may or may not be viable for their class at present. So, if you weren't a Cultivator before... _fate has chosen you._ That said, armor pieces allowing Need for many classes is definitely a new bug if we can get some evidence of it. Will keep an eye out. |
