| Summary | 0025200: WH: Blessed Blade and SoD not stacking | ||||
| Description | In Path of Confession at 11 invested points the tactic Blessed Blade offers 3 seconds of 25% armor penetration after use of an execution, the same amount of armor penetration is granted by the ability Shroud of Destruction on activation for 7 seconds at 5 points. Despite the former being a tactic and the latter being an activatable ability, their effects do not stack. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Ensure your Witch Hunter has low/no melee crit, gear procs such as 4 pieces of Triumphant (Vicious Strikes) or an armor debuff weapon (Wit pistol). Spec into Blessed Blade and Seal of Destruction, slot Flowing Accusations and Blessed Blade as tactics. Make use of a Training Construct in Altdorf. Build 1 accusation, use Absolution and (FA willing) use Absolution again. The sequence is Builder -> Abso -> Abso. Force FA to proc, repeat the sequence as long as it takes. Take note of how much damage the last 2 point Absolution deals. Perform the exact same steps with one addition: Upon FA proc, activate Shroud of Destruction before you blast the Construct with the last 2 point Absolution and take note of how much damage the finisher deals. Unslot the tactic Flowing Accusations. Proceed to build 1 accusation and use Trial by Pain, note the damage. Build 1 accusation again, activate SoD, use TbP and note the damage. | ||||
| Additional Information | The first tick of damage dealt by Trial by Pain is not relevant since it takes 1 instance of dmg for the finisher to be granted armor ignore from Blessed Blade. Arguably only TbP is necessary to drive the point home, however I felt compelled to illustrate by employing 2 different finishers. The 2 screenshots showcase 1 point TbP with Blessed Blade slotted: with and without Shroud of Destruction activation. | ||||

| Same can be said for the WE bleeding edge + elixir of insane power. | |
| This is intended per the patch notes: https://www.returnofreckoning.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=60238 | |

Under bug fixes the entry reads "Seal of Destruction - No longer stacking with other abilities (and itself)". Bleeding Edge and Blessed Blade are tactics. Fundamentally, tactics and abilities are supposed to stack. Thus my confusion: if this is working as intended, it goes contrary to how it normally works. In which case I highly recommend adjusting the tooltip of SoD and EoIP in order to warn the player. |
|
| Tactics that give plain stats stack, this tactic gives you a proc and that's treated like a regular ability. | |
