Not sure if this is intended but Siege Equipment takes reduced damage from magical attacks from melee characters. I know for a fact that spirit-based Swordmaster attacks (Dragon's Talon, Wrath of Hoeth, Potent Enchantment) do reduced damage eventhough they can only be used from melee range. I assume this is the same for other magical attacks like Ravage, Shining Blade, etc...
