Summary0023425: SH: Various Pet bugs introduced at the latest update (23/10/24)
DescriptionCannot really break it down to indivudual bugs but here are some of my suspicions:
1. The pet follows linear pathing towards the enemy they are told to attack, but if they can't find a proper pathing along the way, they turn back to the owner.
2. After killing an enemy at far enough distance, if they are ordered to attack another enemy they will teleport around and path from there = location desync? (sometimes)
3. If the Pet is set on Aggressive mode and they target + attack something, they are still visually following you and attacking from there = location desync. But it can happen to teleport to far away targets (maybe bug 2?)
4. They return to their owner faster than they normally walk to enemies
5. If you order them to attack while they are returning (especially if they've killed something and are auto returning) they will move to their next target faster.
6. Aggressive mode has a big aggro range and melee pets teleport to targets within the range instead of walking to them
Steps To ReproduceTo test 1 go to around where image 1. is in IC
To test 2 stay at the same spot and spawn a melee pet (Hard to reproduce. Might have something to do with bug 1)
To test 3 go to the Marauder PQ in IC and spawn a melee Pet. Set it to Aggressive mode and watch. Repeat for a Ranged Pet. (img 2)
To test 4 order it to kill something and watch the speeds of going and returning
To test 5 order it to attack something else while coming back
To test 6 put a melee pet on follow and walk around IC (near Nurgling spots) (img3)

Only played for a bit today, but it seems to despawn as soon as I enter combat.

Pet is set to defensive, and can see if next to me on my mount, but as soon as I demount into combat it disappears.

Did more testing. It seems the game puts the pet where I summon it, so it looks like it's following me but as soon as I engage a target far enough away from where I spawned it, it will automatically respawned. I tested it multiple times in PVE.

Summoned me pet, moved a few 100 yards away and tried to attack and it de-spawned immediately

The SH ranged pets I've tested seem extremely likely to despawn when ordered to attack when recently mounted (from passive). It seems like any elevation difference between you and the pet causes it to despawn.

1) Attack enemy while mounted.
2) Order squig to attack.
3) Squig despawns.

Noticed something related to the bugs (probably 1 and 2) today.
I ordered Spiked Squig to attack Ursine Domina (West Praag Beastlord boss). The pet was visually close to me the entire time. The Boss also started moving towards the direction my pet was. I took aggro as MSH, so I didn't notice if the Boss would have gone exactly to the location I could see my pet at, BUT
a few moments later, the skaven around the spawn of the Boss seemingly started gathering where the boss originally was. Then I realized my Spiked squig was actually at that spot despite being visually next to me. Saw damage numbers popping and its health going down and soon after it died.

No video recording software to provide evidence, but it should be easy to reproduce by following the same steps.

what's happening? they fixed it and spat on it, for the 2nd week people can't play this class, it's just that critical skills and control are tied to the pet. any update?!

We released a patch on the 28th to fix the issue that R1CH provided a video of. Particularly pets resetting before they have reached the target when ordered to attack. Videos of reproductions of bugs are by far the most valuable for us to reproduce problems.

If any people who play pet careers are interested in helping us reproduce these bugs message me on discord as we are opening a pet focused group.
